On 4 November 2026, Studio 397 published a community update about third-party tools that monitor live LMU skill/discipline rank and results history by using Steam authorization or a game token to call LMU backends. They asked the community not to create or use those services, citing service stability and legal concerns, and noted that automatic rate limiting and IP bans are in place for abnormal traffic.
What this means for MyLMU
All MyLMU features continue as usual, including the Sync Agent.
MyLMU is not one of the tools described in that statement:
- MyLMU does not use Steam authorization or your game token to call LMU or RaceControl backends on your behalf.
- MyLMU does not impersonate you against Studio 397 services to fetch live SR/DR, names, or results.
- Sessions, rankings, and telemetry in MyLMU come from race data you already have on your computer (and optionally share), not from live credential-based scraping of LMU backends.
Sync Agent
The Sync Agent only watches local folders you choose (for example results and telemetry under your LMU UserData directory) and uploads those files to MyLMU after you sign in through your browser. It does not log into LMU services with Steam or a game token.
See Privacy & Security for folder access, authentication, and what data is uploaded.
