The driver strip is the wide live-inputs bar on Track Map. It shows real-time throttle, brake, steering, speed, and gear for your lap and any loaded reference, and it is where you select which lap replay follows and load a reference ghost.
It sits above the replay control bar — the replay bar is the bottom-most control on the screen.

When the traces panel is open, the driver strip hides. The same lap picker, reference menu, Dist/Time toggle, and live driver cards appear at the top of the traces stack instead.
Position on screen
Bottom stack, from the screen edge upward:
| Layer | Control |
|---|---|
| Bottom | Replay control bar — play, speed, timeline |
| Above replay bar | Driver strip (this bar) |
| Above driver strip (bottom-left) | Segment seeker, sector comparison card |
| Above driver strip (right edge) | Overlays tab |
Layout
| Area | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Current (left) | Active lap picker, lap time, weather/energy icons, live throttle/brake, steering wheel, speed, gear, RPM |
| Center pillar | Delta vs reference, Add reference / reference picker, Dist/Time sync, show reference car on map |
| Reference (right) | Reference driver inputs when a ghost is loaded — dimmed Reference label when none |
On smaller screens the strip collapses into a horizontal scroll with compact driver cards.
Current lap picker
Click the Lap row on the left (lap number + elapsed time) to open the lap list.
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| FAST | Session best lap |
| INV | Invalid lap (e.g. off-track or incomplete sectors) |
- Every recorded lap appears with its time
- Picking a lap updates replay, the map, traces, driver strip readouts, and segment tools together
Lap selection lives in the driver strip (or traces header when the panel is open), not the replay control bar. The bar only has Previous lap / Next lap to step one lap at a time.
Reference (ghost) controls
Use the center pillar to load and manage a reference lap:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add reference | Open the reference menu when no ghost is loaded |
| Best lap | Use your session best as reference |
| Pick lap | Choose another lap from the same file |
| Community best | Open the community ghost picker |
| Select lap… | Pick a specific lap when reference mode is custom |
| Clear reference | Remove the loaded ghost |
You can also load an external ghost by dragging from Your files or using Load to compare — the driver strip shows the reference label once it is active.
Open Community Best Laps from the globe button in the top-left toolbar as an alternative to Community best in this menu.
Reading delta
When a reference is loaded, the center pillar shows live time delta vs reference:
| Color / sign | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Negative (green) | You are faster than reference at this point |
| Positive (red) | You are slower |
The same delta appears in the Delta trace when Traces is open.
Dist / Time sync
Toggle Dist or Time in the center pillar:
| Mode | Compares at… |
|---|---|
| Dist (default) | The same distance on track — standard for lap comparison |
| Time | The same elapsed time in the lap — useful when lines differ a lot |
The same toggle appears in the traces panel toolbar when the panel is open.
Show reference on map
Toggle the car icon to show or hide the reference racing line and ghost car on the 2D/3D map.
Live readouts
Each side shows synchronized values during replay:
| Readout | Notes |
|---|---|
| Throttle / brake bars | Green throttle, red brake |
| Steering wheel | Rotates with steering input; colored rings show pedal load on traces cards |
| Speed / RPM | Respects your unit preference |
| Gear | Synthesized when not logged |
| Weather / energy icons | Session conditions when available |
